Our Story

How Teguh Came to Be

Teguh was established by a small group of Malaysian legal practitioners who noticed a gap they couldn't comfortably ignore. Clients would come in for other matters — estate planning, contract reviews, routine paperwork — and almost in passing mention that they weren't entirely sure what they were entitled to when they retired. The amounts, the conditions, the processes for their spouses if something happened — these were things most people simply hoped would sort themselves out.

The team realised this wasn't really about legal complexity. It was about access to plain, patient explanation. EPF statements, pension determination letters, survivor benefit forms — these documents exist, but reading them confidently takes time and familiarity that most working people don't have. That's the gap Teguh was set up to fill.

We opened our Kuala Lumpur office with a deliberate focus on retirement entitlement work — not as part of a broader practice, but as a dedicated service. Every process we've built, every document template we use, reflects the particular needs of people navigating EPF withdrawals, pension appeals, and family continuity planning in Malaysia.

Our Mission

What We're Here For

Our purpose is straightforward: to make pension entitlements legible and accessible. We don't push people toward particular decisions. We help them understand their position clearly so they can decide for themselves — with family, with time, without pressure.

Clarity over complexity. Every matter is explained in plain language, not legal shorthand.

Your pace, your choice. We present findings and options — the decisions stay with you.

Focused practice. Retirement entitlement work is not a side service here — it is the service.

Honest engagement. We tell you what we see, including when the picture isn't what you were hoping for.

About Our Practice

Pension Entitlement Legal Services in Kuala Lumpur

Teguh operates as a focused legal practice in Kuala Lumpur, attending specifically to matters of retirement entitlements under Malaysian law. This includes EPF (KWSP) benefit reviews, pension appeal assistance for civil servants and pensionable employees, and the documentation of family and dependant continuity arrangements for both public and private retirement schemes.

Malaysia's retirement framework involves a number of distinct systems — the Employees Provident Fund for private sector contributors, the pension scheme for pensionable government employees administered through KWAP, and various private retirement schemes registered under the Securities Commission. Each carries its own rules around contributions, withdrawal conditions, derivative benefits for spouses and children, and appeal procedures when decisions appear incorrect.

Navigating these systems without help is possible, but understanding what you're actually entitled to — what a correct calculation should look like, what survivor arrangements exist, whether an appeal has merit — typically benefits from someone who works with these documents regularly. That is what Teguh provides: careful, specific, professionally prepared assistance with retirement entitlement matters, without the pressure or generalist framing that can sometimes accompany broader legal practices.

Our office at Wisma UOA II on Jalan Pinang is accessible from the city centre and well-connected by public transport. Telephone and video consultations are equally welcome for those who prefer to begin the conversation from home.
